Inspired by two brilliant books I've read, Merlin Sheldrakes's "Entangled", and Robert Mcfarlane's "Underland" books explore the magical and important life of mycelium.
A unique piece of fused glass art. Created in bullseye glass using murrine, powders, frits and glass and fused on a contour setting in my kiln (please do touch!) Imagining the heart of a tree and the underland with diachroic stringers as mycelium. Comes in a solid brushed steel stand. (Glass measures 30cm diameter).
"Underland" was first exhibited at Shafestbury Art Centre on the @#circleslandscapesandfusions 2024.
